Melody HA-01: Armour Grade’s First DIY Hi-Fi Headphone Amplifier

We’re opening our designs and inviting more people to build with us.

It started with our DIY keychain gaming console, a compact, retro-inspired device that lets you swap games by hot-swapping controllers. It’s still in development, but it pushed us toward something bigger: the idea of sharing our knowledge and work more openly.

In parallel, we’re working on a more advanced open-source project: the Melody HA-01, a Hi-Fi headphone amplifier you can build yourself. It’s fully DIY, made from off-the-shelf parts, and the files will be freely available to download and modify for anyone interested.

This simple analog amplifier is our way of experimenting with sound and building a foundation for our future audio projects.

To help people get to know these projects better and build them themselves, we’re documenting each step in detailed episodes on our YouTube channel. Each episode will cover the functionality and purpose of the parts, explain what we did and how we did it, providing a clear guide through every stage of these DIY projects.
