COSMO GC-01 is getting an upgrade, COSMO GC-1.1, the complete version of our little kit.
We added a few important details to make it even better:
1. On-off designations for the switch.
2. Two additional ceramic SMD capacitors - one on the controller and one next to the piezo buzzer driver.
3. Larger battery connection pad footprint.
These changes make COSMO GC-1.1 fully complete. Assembly is slightly trickier for beginners because of the extra SMD componentс, but don’t worry! The six-pin surface-mounted piezo driver comes pre-soldered, so it’s still very beginner friendly.
In fact, COSMO has already proven to be a fantastic project for young learners. With a tutor nearby, even an 8-year-old can assemble it. Kids in schools show huge interest, they stay focused while building it and enjoy playing with it for a while afterward. It seems very appealing to young minds, and it has the potential to become a big trend among the next generation of electronics enthusiasts.
